A little background here is important. I am a tech entrepreneur with 34 years of experience across multiple industries.  I started my career in aviation, where I spent 10 years with the FAA. I eventually ended up in healthcare, where I have been for the last 15 years.  I have used my background in air traffic control to architect a new approach to location based systems for healthcare. While running the location services team, inside a major healthcare system, I learned where the existing approach is failing and wanted to introduce something new.

I want to use this site to introduce a concept that we have been working on for a number of years, called Care Traffic Control. It involves taking workflows that involve motion and use location based services to automate and orchestrate them. It is the foundation for everything we do at Navv Systems. The goal of the site is to evolve a knowledge base that can be used to advance care traffic control from a concept to reality. We see fragments of what a care traffic control system is in many health systems but there is a maturity curve that exists. Like other disciplines that have been used for improvement, it takes time and trial and error to get it right. Having a good road is best path toward success. I want to open-source the road map and become the go-to place for knowledge on the subject. I plan to add guests, do some podcasting and other media to get this information out to the people who can make it a reality.

In full disclosure, I am the president of Navv Systems which has a product in the market, but it is clear to us that the everyone benefits when a knowledge based is established to for a domain like location services. The purpose of this site is to offer a knowledge base and access to resources that can help guide healthcare leaders toward creating a thriving location services program inside their own healthcare systems. This knowledge base can be used to evaluate any product that is currently in the market, but even better, we want it to shape the future of a market where location based services is something that can live up to its true potential.
